St. Thomas

St Thomas is one of the islands making up the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI). Charlotte Amalie, a major city on St Thomas, serves as the capital of the USVI. This historic port city was once the center of colonial commerce for the region. No longer being a major port, Charlotte Amalie, a city of more than 51,000 people, now is full of hotels and other amenities catering to tourists.

This island is full of mountains, so it is ideal for hiking to prime ocean views. Visitors will find hotels, bed and breakfasts, and private residencies for rent throughout the islandís hills.

St. Thomas is a great place to enjoy water recreation. Adventurists can windsurf, sport fish for Marlin, parasail, scuba dive, or sail around the numerous cays. Those desiring adrenaline free activities can play golf or read a book on the beach. After a full day, tourists can head downtown to enjoy the restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.

An airport and ferry service makes it possible for visitors on St Thomas to visit other islands of the USVI.
